Manteigaria is a custard tart factory with a public service desk. It has two stores in the city of Porto, located in the Clérigos and in the Bolhão area.
Inside it is possible for the customer to observe the whole process of making cream puffs, completely handmade: from the preparation of the dough to the addition of the cream, and, of course, the moment when the cakes are baked. Cream Puffs can be enjoyed inside the store or taken outside. Manteigaria also has the particularity of announcing in the street, through a bell, the exit of a new batch of tartlets ready to be tasted.

The restaurant Peza Arroz was born in 1944, still under the name Casa de Melgaço, and owes its name to the nickname of the owner’s great-grandfather. It is rustic and welcoming, located in the riverside area of Porto, and it serves good homemade dishes of traditional Portuguese cuisine. It is a great place to rest and regain energy, and then continue visiting the riverside area. The pleasant space outside overlooking the Douro River and the not less friendly staff of the space stand out, and you can enjoy some “Tripas à moda do Porto” (the most representative dish of Porto that dates back to the time of the Portuguese Discoveries is cooked with tripe and fat meat, accompanied with thick slices of dark bread; today instead of bread white beans are used), or a Francesinha (a sandwich from the city of Porto, consisting of sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef steak, covered with cheese later melted; it is garnished with a tomato, beer and piri-piri sauce and can be served with French fries as a side dish), or “bacalhau à marinheiro” (codfish fillets, soaked in seafood broth, roasted in the oven with clams, shrimps, peppers and onions), or grilled beefsteak on the dish, among others, while enjoying one of the most emblematic views of Porto and Gaia, savoured with a glass of wine.

Located in downtown Porto, the fame of the Venham Mais 5 beef sandwiches has spread rapidly throughout the city. With a short menu, the most intense bet is on the quality of the products used in the confection of their dishes. The centre of attention is placed on the beef sandwich, served in bread, with sirloin and melted cheese – you can also order a version with Serra cheese. Almost at the same level of fame are their desserts, especially the chocolate cake, a delight that blends the lightness of a merengue chocolate sigh with chocolate mousse. The portions are generous and often shared by the table, since the very philosophy of the house invites the sharing of stories, conviviality and, there you have it, food.

With a tradition of over 20 years, Museu dos Presuntos is already an emblematic restaurant in Porto. With a very comfortable and welcoming space and a very characteristic decoration, it is the ideal place to have some snacks with friends, accompanied by a refreshing sangria or a glass of wine. It also has a great diversity of meat and fish dishes as well as vegetarian dishes. Among other alternatives, we can highlight, for example, Posta à Museu, the Museu’s octopus or pataniscas d’Avó. It also offers delicious desserts, including the chocolate cake.

They travel the country so that everyone can know and taste their sandwiches. Concerts, festivals and pilgrimages are events where parties and food combine and Duarte’s Street Food is present, to share and provide unique and complete moments. Burel Factory is a brand that was born in Serra da Estrela. It is a sustainable project that emerges from the recovery of an old wool factory, to continue the history of burel, one of the endogenous products of the region made from 100% wool. It is part of the revitalisation of old knowledge, of the people who kept it in their hands and of a mountain culture that was in danger of disappearing. Today, the factory operates with machines and looms from the 19th century, ensuring the longevity of this know-how, to which it combines the innovation made through design and colour, to deliver a current and contemporary product. It has fashion, decoration and interior architecture pieces, from blankets to toys, all in sheep wool.
