The Village - Wine Shop is a project which was born in December 2004 and which comes from a passion for the flavours of Portuguese wines. It is a wine shop of reference to buy the best wines, liqueurs, spirits, regional cheeses and gourmet products of Portugal. It is a shop for connoisseurs, for tasters, but also to relax and have a glass of wine. Here you will find wines of all kinds, with careful selections: red wines such as Pêra Manca, Barca Velha, among others; white wines such as Mirabilis; national and international champagnes; Port wines, with harvests dating as back as 1937; and a selection of spirits, focusing on various types of whisky.

Café Ambrizete home appeared in the 70s and can be said to be part of a range of the oldest houses in the area. The name ‘Ambrizete’ derives from the time of the returnees, the people who returned from the old Portuguese overseas provinces, being the name of an Angolan city at the time. At the beginning, with the theme of a tea room, the space contained sofas for the comfort of its clients and paintings on the walls with the theme ‘Angola’. Of these paintings it is still possible to see part of them under the false ceiling, as well as a stained glass window that is part of the origins of the house. Nowadays, the highlight goes to the games of Santa Casa, to its billiards, to the space outside and to its soup, which never disappoints its clients.

According to Café D. Duarte, this is the ideal space to regain strength. Just pop in and enjoy your selection of snacks and drinks. Every time you visit Café D. Duarte you will find comforting coffee and light meals. It also has exterior space, particularly pleasant with warm weather. You can choose from a variety of traditional and Portuguese dishes, local dishes or regional dishes. You can also try the tapas dishes, or its fruit, or even the various bakery products and cakes. To the attention of food bloggers: taking pictures and posting them on Instagram has never been so simple, as it has free Wi-Fi. There is also a take-away service.

The owner’s name is Eugenia and the history of her café is a “funny” one: she worked in a school nearby, but she did not like working there very much. She took care of the children when they were on their break, but while during school hours her work was more quiet. Bored, but still without another job in sight, she found herself forced to find an escape as an excuse to get out of there. One day, while passing through the street of Bonjardim, she saw a shop that was about to wander and thought she could open a café in that space, betting on her homemade dumplings, something she loved to do. And so Geninha appeared, the name by which she was called at school, where she could share her cakes and snacks.
