Open since 1969, Concha Douro is one of the oldest pastry shops in the city of Porto. Entering this space is also taking a journey through time, promoting a welcoming environment from other times and a familiarity that one can feel. This does not mean compromising the constant updating and adaptation to the demands of the new times. Here you can make your meal at lunchtime and buy groceries; but the ex-libris of Concha Douro is its pastry shop, especially the confectionary biscuits, ‘seminaristas’ (smaller version of a traditional sweet made with puff pastry, with egg filling and cinnamon and royal glaze topping), ‘glorinhas’ (circular cake with a hole in the middle – it has more or less the shape of a donut – with a very high puff pastry basis; a thick layer of egg jam is applied on it and finally a thin white and crispy layer of sugar syrup covers it all), ‘pastéis de nata’ (Portuguese egg tart pastry dusted with cinnamon) and ‘Hungarian sweets’ (butter biscuit, half of which has chocolate coating). Concha Douro is proud of the quality of its products, which it promotes in the raw materials used and in the maintenance of the original recipes.

Sagardi is a restaurant that pays homage to its origins, the Basque Country, a unique territory with its own ancestral culture, where cuisine is the center of life. Through chef Iñaki López de Viñaspre, Sagardi offers a product cuisine, true and authentic, recovering traditional flavors. His desire is to share the authenticity of Basque gastronomic culture with all its products and the knowledge of the old Basque grills. The best pieces of red meat, “txuleton”, freshly caught wild fish, exclusive vegetables from your garden, free of GMOs and full of flavor, and a careful selection of local wines. From the producer to the table.

Pinguim Café is a pub with a traditional atmosphere, which opened in 1987 and has a history of regular culture-related activities.
It has a long tradition of poetry evenings on Monday, started by Joaquim Castro Caldas for over 30 years, followed by poets such as Manuel Jorge Marmelo, João Habitualmente, Daniel Maia-Pinto Rodrigues, Valter Hugo Mãe, Filipa Leal, Paulo Campos dos Reis, Renato Filipe Cardoso.
Penguin Café stands out for the quality of its tonic gins and has a phrase that characterizes them “Not only of Gin lives the Penguin”. You should try the excellent hot chocolate, wines, cocktails, craft beers and snacks.
