After years of growth in several of the main cafés in Porto, the founders of Ruial decided to establish themselves on their own and, in 1992, Café Ruial was created. It presents itself as a traditional place, distinguished by the quality of its speciality – the famous Francesinha. Traditional, with a sauce “behind the ear” – the most commonly praised ingredient – and the French fries, homemade, peeled by hand and always fried on the spot, make this Francesinha one to consider. Also known by the typical Portuguese little hotdogs and other dishes, which are characterised by the traditional taste of homemade dishes, it is an excellent option for any occasion.

The historic Confeitaria Petúlia opened to the public in 1972 and has kept the same owners since then. It is known for its many products of recognized quality, such as “Bolo Rei”, which is considered one of the best in the city and is made throughout the whole year.
But there are other specialties, such as “húngaros”, snacks, croissants, pies and “Pão-de-Ló”, which was considered the best of Porto in a blind tasting organized by Time Out in 2014.
It also has a grocery store with wines, chocolates, pasta and other products. In addition to the quality of its products, its atmosphere is familiar and welcoming.

Manteigaria is a Pastéis de Nata factory with a public service desk. It has two stores in the city of Porto located in the Clérigos and in the Bolhão area.
Inside it is possible for the customer to observe the whole process of making the Pastel de Nata, also known as the Portuguese custard tart, completely handmade: from the preparation of the dough to the addition of the cream, and, of course, the moment when the cakes are baked. Pastéis de Natal can be enjoyed inside the store or taken outside. Manteigaria also has the particularity of announcing in the street, through a bell, the exit of a new batch of tartlets ready to be tasted.
