The menu presents several options, with a strong focus on traditional Portuguese cuisine, varying from day to day, and also having its version of the famous Porto delicacy, the Francesinha (a sandwich from the city of Porto, consisting of sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef steak, covered with cheese later melted; it is garnished with a tomato, beer and piri-piri sauce and can be served with French fries as a side dish). There are options of meat or fish dishes, such as “alheira” (a type of Portuguese sausage, made with meats and bread.) or “porco à Alentejana” (one of the most traditional and popular pork dishes of Portuguese cuisine, it is a combination of pork and clams, with potatoes and coriander), with very competitive prices. Sai Cão is a traditional Portuguese food restaurant. With daily dishes at competitive prices, with menus that include bread, soup, main course and drink. However, the lead role of Sai Cão is really its ‘posta à Mirandesa’ (thick heavy beef steak), which, according to many customers, is considered the best in town, accompanied with potatoes, rice and salad. The menu contains other traditional Portuguese dishes, with dishes like horse mackerel, several codfish dishes, veal roasted in the oven, omelettes, among others. The atmosphere is welcoming, familiar and traditional, bringing together different generations. Here you can count on that familiarity from the employees, who treat the customers as if they were part of the house.

For over 50 years serving the city of Porto, Cancela Velha is a cafe specialized in meals and all kinds of snacks.
Very close to the busy Avenida dos Aliados, in this establishment the main attraction is the very typical francesinha. Those who prefer other options have at their disposal the toasts, hamburgers, dogs and sandwiches menu.
Cancela Velha also offers its customers a cafeteria service, which, together with its fast and efficient service and its welcoming space, make this an ideal place for a quicker lunch, for your breakfast or even for a mid-afternoon snack.

O Melhor Bolo de Chocolate do Mundo (The Best Chocolate Cake in the World) opened in 2011 a small and cozy space in downtown Porto. It all started when Carlos Braz Lopes tried to recreate in his restaurant, former Mercado Santa Clara, a recipe he had tasted in Paris.
The result was not very close to the original, but the success was such that customers who tasted eventually dubbed the creation of “the best chocolate cake in the world”.
Layers of meringue wrapped in french chocolate mousse topped with a chocolate ganache – these are the traits that make this cake a unique experience. No wonder this delight has already reached such distinct points of the globe as Spain, Brazil, Australia and Angola.
