The specialties of Novo Molhe are sushi, tapas and homemade ice cream. In this space, part of the Restaurant Do Molhe building, three new tasting areas are available in addition to the already renowned and elegant restaurant service. Sushi is one of the cuisines in expansion, very appreciated by the Portuguese, as well as tapas, a type of snack characteristic of neighbouring Spain. Ice cream making, an art which is very much promoted in Italy, is also growing in our country, and the highlight goes to its artisan form, which allows the creation of original flavours. The owner’s name is Eugenia and the history of her café is a “funny” one: she worked in a school nearby, but she did not like working there very much. She took care of the children when they were on their break, but while during school hours her work was more quiet. Bored, but still without another job in sight, she found herself forced to find an escape as an excuse to get out of there. One day, while passing through the street of Bonjardim, she saw a shop that was about to wander and thought she could open a café in that space, betting on her homemade dumplings, something she loved to do. And so Geninha appeared, the name by which she was called at school, where she could share her cakes and snacks.

Cervejaria Gazela is a historic space of the city, awarded with numerous awards and a must stop in any gastronomic itinerary. It is known above all for its hotdogs, which are nowadays one of the most sought after and iconic snacks of Porto and an example of the best confort food you can find. They are made in toasted, narrow bread with a very spicy fresh sausage and melted cheese, cut into small pieces and served with a fresh beer. You can hardly eat just one.
