There is cherry in Porto. One of the best known Portuguese liqueurs has a space in the city of Porto. Ginja in Porto sells liqueurs but its specialty is the Óbidos cherry. The cherry, or ginjinhas, is a liqueur obtained by macerating the cherry, very similar to cherry, extremely popular in Portugal, especially in Óbidos, Lisbon, Alcobaça and Algarve. It is a product whose maceration lasts at least one year and does not use artificial colors or preservatives. At Ginja in Porto you can taste, advising to taste in a glass of chocolate, but you can also buy bottles to offer or enrich your personal wine cellar.

Astro Cervejaria Petisqueira has been in Porto since 1979 and says its slogan that here you can find the “real bifanas”. It is the ex-libris of O’Astro. Going here and not eating a bifana is like going to Porto once in a lifetime and not drinking a port. According to the owner, Mr. Albino, also the green broth is at the level of the bifanas, because “there is no time of day when it is not fresh, hot and ready to eat”. There are also other snacks to try, such as ham sandwiches, beef patties, shrimp patties, cod pastries, and breadcrumbs.

The mythical Café Corcel, born in 1967 in the Pinheiro Manso area, has recently reopened with a new life. The space is more beautiful and luminous, modernised, but containing some traditional touches, and its shop window reflects this, where we find an exhibition with a lot of conventual sweets. This is the star of this space, the confectionery, and we are not talking about the conventional cakes, known to all pastries in Porto, but rather about conventual confectionery: egg chestnuts, egg cones, almond delights, Tentúgal pastries. There are also homemade pizzas, salads and carpaccios, if you want a light meal and a DJ at the weekend, to enjoy while drinking a cocktail.
