In 1920, began the production of milk, butter, cheese and whipped cream. It was the first company in the sector to distribute pasteurised milk in glass bottles, at a time when the distribution was done in jars carried on the head. It gained fame and imposed the quality of its products. Butter with salt sold by weight, on baking paper, is still a classic, as are cheese and whipped cream. In fact, whipped cream has become a protagonist. In the 1950s, sold over the counter in little bags of waxed paper, it joined the ex-libris of the brand: the éclair with chocolate coating. The constant quality, the daily production, always fresh and limited to the existing stock, confirm a story of success.

Opened in 2013, it is a bar which opens to the street, with music, concerts and snacks. In the middle of downtown Porto, it tries to bring the street to the street, in this reciprocity of undergoing, experiences and smells. The Rua occupies an old building in the area, with a characteristic interior patio. The architectural project of adaptation to the bar sought to realise the idea of approaching the street, of integration and continuity, using elements and materials from the exterior urbanity, such as the granite of the pavement, the balcony iron bars, the typical tiles and the urban graffiti. On the menu, you can find various solutions for drinking and snacking, ‘potatoes bravas’ (extremely spicy potatoes), padrón peppers, tibornas (similar to a Bruschetta), among others, and even a puff pastry Francesinha.

Tram, a restaurant in the heart of old town, features modern décor in a warm atmosphere and a splendid outdoor terrace overlooking the Douro River. Its menu is rooted in traditional Italian and Portuguese cuisine in a contemporary approach. In order to please its customers, Tram’s focus is essentially on pizzas, risottos, pastas and specialties such as Francesinha, “bacalhau com broa” (codfish), pork knuckle, among others. Due to its location, careful presentation and gastronomy, the space becomes inviting, not only in terms of tourism, but also for all who pass by.
