Their own production of pastry invites the tasting of sweet treats, such as ‘pão de ló de Ovar’ (similar to sponge cake; this version is wet), marble cake, ‘toucinho do céu’ (traditional dessert from Portugal and Spain, with an intense yellow colour; based on eggs and sugar, it originated in convents, the reason for the collective denomination of conventual sweets of this category; it consists of a kind of cake made with pearl sugar to which ground almonds are sometimes added, sometimes gila jam and finally a large portion of egg yolks.
