This establishment belongs to the group of herbalists “Morais e Costa”, a group with a century of existence and still in the possession of the family that founded it, now in the third and fourth generations. Its objective is to provide a range of articles that are intended only and exclusively for the traditional market, combining the quality of a traditional product with the requirements of current consumers. Among our products, we highlight the simple plants and traditional herbal teas, in both cases sold both in cellophane bags and individual sachets.

Liliana and Pedro Abreu, two brothers, have been marketing Iberian black pork meat, hams and sausages for over 20 years. In order to give more visibility to these products, they decided to open, in 2017, Cerca Velha, a space for snacking, tasting and socialising. The “bifanas à Cerca Velha”, which are black pork steaks in a special sauce, served in exclusive bread, as well as the Iberian sausage planks and the generous list of Port and Douro wines from small producers, are worth mentioning. It owes its name to the primitive wall of Porto, which lies beneath the house. They take pride on the quality of their service, their location and the quality of their products, also sold in baskets.

Vaz Oliveira & Cª. Lda. is a fiftieth anniversary celebrating company, founded in 1963. Its mission is, from the beginning, to render available, in the market, the best articles at the best price in the three areas to which it is dedicated: fabric by metro, home textiles and interiors. For this it has a wide range of fabrics, such as towels, cambreas, cottons, interlinings, combs, felt, flannels, linings, jeans, jute, khaki, linens, tarpaulins, plasticised mesh, raw cloth, sheeting, Turkish cloth, pike, quadrille, dressings, table protectors, serge, surrobeco, tartan, plasticised fabrics, tulle, among others, home textiles, with ranges for hotels and restaurants, and interiors, such as dressing gowns, pyjamas, to name but a few.

Opened in January 2017, Scala Palace is a restaurant that servs seafood, tapas and snacks. You will have several snacks at your disposal, such as our well-known patties, “pica-pau” or gizzards and a wide range of meat and fish dishes, with a special highlight for seafood dishes. It also has a great offer of Francesinhas, from the normal, the house special, the vegetarian or even an original Francesinha with tuna steak. There are also size XL and XXL Francesinha for the hungriest. The space is very comfortable and its decoration is pleasant. You will surely have a good time at Scala Palace.

Open since 2014, the Italian Gelataria Monalisa was born from the will of a Portuguese and an Italian who came together to recreate a typical Italian ice cream shop in the heart of Porto. With their own and exclusive handmade production, the products are imported from Italy, to produce unique flavors of fruits, nuts or even their favorite chocolates. By the way, the most sought after flavors are those that recreate bar or chocolate chocolates, such as KitKat, Ferrero Rocher or Raffaello. Basically, Monalisa sells dreams because, according to the inscription on its walls, “a dream should be synonymous with ice cream, because both complete each trace of your life with a piece of sugar.”

At Paolo’s Pizzeria you can enjoy an extensive pizza menu, with garlic bread and drink, or the option of a pizza roll. But you will be making a mistake if you think that Paolo’s only has pizzas. The diversity of starters impresses, from the traditional olives, through the sausage or cheese boards, to the house specialty, a steak puff pastry, accompanied with fried potatoes. There is a panoply of salads and pasta dishes, but the menu of traditional Portuguese dishes is also a great bet, as well as the unavoidable Francesinha (a sandwich from the city of Porto, consisting of sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef steak, covered with cheese later melted; it is garnished with a tomato, beer and piri-piri sauce and can be served with French fries as a side dish) and some snacks. Café Restaurante Marinho’s invests in traditional Portuguese cuisine and seeks to offer its customers quality dishes at affordable prices. Its menu is varied and quite extensive, with several options of meat, fish, seafood, omelets and snacks. Obviously, we are in Porto, and if there is cuisine, there is francesinha, which Marinho’s advises to accompany with your sangria. They have a takeaway service every day, with meals for two at very competitive prices.

Inaugurated in 1976, the Farmácia Mafalda owes its name to its owner, Maria Aurora Carranho Mafalda. Initially installed in Monte Cativo street, in 1994 it was transferred to the current address. It offers several services, such as pharmaceutical counselling, pharmacotherapeutic accompaniment, measurement of biochemical and physiological parameters. Here you are able to measure levels of glycaemia, total cholesterol, triglycerides, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, weight, height, body mass index, among others.
