Portologia, Casa do Porto, is an ode to the wines of Portugal. A winery, wine bar and tasting house, this venue offers a sophisticated selection of over 200 Port and Douro wines, with special emphasis on small producers. With open spaces in Paris, Lisbon and of course in Porto, Julien dos Santos, owner of the shops and producer of his own Port wine, the Portuguese businessman has a devotion to Port wine, but also to other gourmet products like cheese and cold cuts and, during the summer season, with the Parisian exodus, Julien and his teams follow in their footsteps, concentrating their work in Portugal, in shops and in the vintage.

Opened in 2013, it is a bar which opens to the street, with music, concerts and snacks. In the middle of downtown Porto, it tries to bring the street to the street, in this reciprocity of undergoing, experiences and smells. The Rua occupies an old building in the area, with a characteristic interior patio. The architectural project of adaptation to the bar sought to realise the idea of approaching the street, of integration and continuity, using elements and materials from the exterior urbanity, such as the granite of the pavement, the balcony iron bars, the typical tiles and the urban graffiti. On the menu, you can find various solutions for drinking and snacking, ‘potatoes bravas’ (extremely spicy potatoes), padrón peppers, tibornas (similar to a Bruschetta), among others, and even a puff pastry Francesinha.

Big Petisco defines itself as a traditional appetizer, which prides itself on offering a huge variety of traditional snacks and specialties every day, a grill service and a much praised Francesinha. In addition to the diversity of snacks offered at an inviting price (special hotdog, snacks, hamburgers, etc.), which can be tasted and accompanied by a good wine or beer, Big Petisco is highlighted by its customers for its cozy environment. It also has daily dishes at lunch time. It is worth visiting for food and drink and stay for the good mood.

Liliana and Pedro Abreu, two brothers, have been marketing Iberian black pork meat, hams and sausages for over 20 years. In order to give more visibility to these products, they decided to open, in 2017, Cerca Velha, a space for snacking, tasting and socialising. The “bifanas à Cerca Velha”, which are black pork steaks in a special sauce, served in exclusive bread, as well as the Iberian sausage planks and the generous list of Port and Douro wines from small producers, are worth mentioning. It owes its name to the primitive wall of Porto, which lies beneath the house. They take pride on the quality of their service, their location and the quality of their products, also sold in baskets.
