A French-Portuguese couple came to Porto, with the will to participate in the evolution, dynamism and culinary diversity of the city. They changed their lives and careers and opened Porto Express, to propose original flavours and promote the products of the north of Portugal, in a welcoming space, where everyone can get together and feel at ease, in conviviality and sharing food. It is a tapas bar, of drinks, of hamburgers, of homemade cakes and brunch, serving local and artisan products, with a modern and original touch, with vegan and vegetarian options. They also have artistic and cultural events (workshops, concerts, thematic dinners); they are pet-friendly; and they focus on the satisfaction of each client.

With Sotaque you belong to a family that believes in the circular economy, in interpersonal relations, in quality handmade products. It was in this sense that they decided to open a shop, which is at the same time a second hand fashion and coffee shop, whose purpose is to connect people through sustainable fashion and conscious consumption, educating and creating business opportunities for all. You can buy and sell clothes and accessories in this space, being able to give a second life to yours and others’ clothes. It is also the ideal space to taste some of your specialties, such as macaroons, chocolate cake and vegan cookies, among others, along with hot chocolate or tea, promoting ecological awareness.

The Take Time Restaurant invites you to spend a pleasant moment, in the company of those you like best and in the company of good food. It has cafeteria service and bar service, and the space can be reserved for events such as birthdays or group dinners. The speciality is actually its cuisine, with bets on traditional Portuguese cuisine and the offer of dishes included in menus, at very competitive prices. The menu includes dishes such as veal “à jardineira” (served with potatoes, carrots and peas), grilled bream, hake fillets, grilled feasts, game sausage, “carne de porco à Alentejana” (pork with clams), grilled horse mackerel, gizzards cooked by the chef (house speciality), grilled ribs “à lagareiro” (cooked in olive oil) , Tripas à moda do Porto” (the most representative dish of Porto that dates back to the time of the Portuguese Discoveries is cooked with tripe and fat meat, accompanied with thick slices of dark bread; today instead of bread white beans are used), just to mention a few. There is a take-away service.

Initially, the Pão com Manteiga (meaning Bread with Butter) was supposed to be just a cafeteria. It became a restaurant since a student asked if he could have for lunch the food that Zaina, the principal manager and cook, used to cook for her husband and children. That day she didn’t even charge money to the student, who the next day returned with a group of friends. That day she served 10 dishes, the next day she served 20 and today it’s served an average of 200 dishes a day of simple and delicious homemade food. Noteworthy are the traditional Portuguese and Brazilian dishes, but also the famous Brazilian pastries and desserts, such as brigadeiros. It has a nice terrace in which you can enjoy on sunny days.
