Since 1993, the spaces of Galeria Fernando Santos, located at Miguel Bombarda Street, are dedicated exclusively to contemporary art.
This gallery is associated with several Portuguese artists who present their work in these spaces, with exhibitions throughout the year. This gallery also publishes books related to the work of some of the artists it agency.
Galeria Fernando Santos has as its main mission the support and dissemination of new Portuguese artists, as well as the promotion of its artists in renowned institutions and through major exhibitions.

Entering Mercado 48 is very likely to be welcomed by his pet, the dog Bala, protagonist of many of his publications on social networks. This is a peculiarity that lets you guess the relaxed atmosphere of this store. Here you will find truly original and creative products, many of them handcrafted and with innovative, vintage and contemporary designs. Namely, objects of art and decoration, luggage, backpacks, wallets, design t-shirts alluding to Porto, to artists or with comic messages and even bicycles made entirely of wood. Here you will surely discover an original souvenir or gift.

Latina is one of the most emblematic bookstores in Porto. It was founded in 1942 by Henrique Perdigão and is known for its façade, highlighting the bust of Luis de Camões. It was the first company in Portugal to create a literary contest, right in the year of its inauguration. The winner of the contest was Prof. José Hermano Saraiva who competed with the work “Vento vindo dos montes” using the pseudonym Simplicimus. Now part of the Leya group, Latina continues to offer its customers a wide range of books. Throughout its three floors you will find all the latest Portuguese and foreign literature, as well as technical, school, children’s and artistic books and travel guides.
