Open since 1969, Concha Douro is one of the oldest pastry shops in the city of Porto. Entering this space is also taking a journey through time, promoting a welcoming environment from other times and a familiarity that one can feel. This does not mean compromising the constant updating and adaptation to the demands of the new times. Here you can make your meal at lunchtime and buy groceries; but the ex-libris of Concha Douro is its pastry shop, especially the confectionary biscuits, ‘seminaristas’ (smaller version of a traditional sweet made with puff pastry, with egg filling and cinnamon and royal glaze topping), ‘glorinhas’ (circular cake with a hole in the middle - it has more or less the shape of a donut - with a very high puff pastry basis; a thick layer of egg jam is applied on it and finally a thin white and crispy layer of sugar syrup covers it all), ‘pastéis de nata’ (Portuguese egg tart pastry dusted with cinnamon) and ‘Hungarian sweets’ (butter biscuit, half of which has chocolate coating). Concha Douro is proud of the quality of its products, which it promotes in the raw materials used and in the maintenance of the original recipes.

They are delicious and sought after by many customers, not all followers of the vegan diet. In addition to their more sustainable production, they are a good choice for those looking for healthier sweet alternatives, as they are less processed than regular donuts and have a lower sugar and fat content.
