The concept was born in Braga but also exists in Porto. Bira dos Namorados uses a regional intonation game, with the exchange of b for v. The decoration takes us to travel to other times, with valentine dishes. While waiting for food, the older ones can play STOP and the younger ones can color. On the menu you will find hamburgers and steaks, with creative names, inspired by dances and musical instruments, and a strong bet on the ingredients used. You can try a different version of francesinha with hamburger. By the way, you can try bean, chicken, portobello or cod burgers. There is equal variety in steaks, entrees, desserts, and drinks.

Hamburgers, nails, craft beer, salads, desserts, wines, spirits, cocktails

Open since 1969, Concha Douro is one of the oldest pastry shops in the city of Porto. Entering this space is also taking a journey through time, promoting a welcoming environment from other times and a familiarity that one can feel. This does not mean compromising the constant updating and adaptation to the demands of the new times. Here you can make your meal at lunchtime and buy groceries; but the ex-libris of Concha Douro is its pastry shop, especially the confectionary biscuits, ‘seminaristas’ (smaller version of a traditional sweet made with puff pastry, with egg filling and cinnamon and royal glaze topping), ‘glorinhas’ (circular cake with a hole in the middle – it has more or less the shape of a donut – with a very high puff pastry basis; a thick layer of egg jam is applied on it and finally a thin white and crispy layer of sugar syrup covers it all), ‘pastéis de nata’ (Portuguese egg tart pastry dusted with cinnamon) and ‘Hungarian sweets’ (butter biscuit, half of which has chocolate coating). Concha Douro is proud of the quality of its products, which it promotes in the raw materials used and in the maintenance of the original recipes.

In a luminous space, which fills the curve of the street, with glass all around, you can find the Padaria Miguel Ângelo (bakery). With a warm, familiar atmosphere and modern decoration, Padaria Miguel Ângelo stands out for the quality of its bread and there are for all tastes – bijou bread, grandmother’s bread (baked with rye flour), white buns (shaped like the beak of a duck), unsalted bread, wholemeal, rye bread, ‘bicos de pato’ (ducks beak – sweet buns shaped like the beak of a duck), Mealhada bread (baked with wheat flour and squared shape, with four high corners), Michelangelo wheat bread, loaf of bread, bread for French toasts, just to mention a few. You can also find sweet options, with typical Portuguese pastries, such as coconut white bread, ‘pão de ló de Ovar’ (similar to sponge cake, but moist in the middle), ‘tranças’ (sweet bread in the shape of braids), you can also order custom birthday cakes. The service is attentive and the offer invites you to taste.

Café Restaurante Marinho’s invests in traditional Portuguese cuisine and seeks to offer its customers quality dishes at affordable prices. The house specialties are fried cod fish with loose rice, grilled squid, Braga-style cod, Porto-style guts, duck rice and Minho-style rojões. Its menu is varied and quite extensive, with several options of meat, fish, seafood, omelets and snacks. Obviously, we are in Porto, and if there is cuisine, there is francesinha, which Marinho’s advises to accompany with your sangria. They have a takeaway service every day, with meals for two at very competitive prices.
