Amaro, Freitas & Jones has existed since 1923. Initially, it dedicated itself to the sale of industrial accessories and tools for the most varied purposes and in the late 60s it created a section specialised in the sale of hand and electric tools, with the first shop in self-service system. The marketing of brands such as Black & Decker, Bosch, Super Star, Stanley, Peugeot, etc. allowed a great growth and the dissemination through leaflets, catalogues and advertisements in the press making Amaro, Freitas & Jones known throughout the country. Mail order was always present, covering the whole national territory. Currently, they have an online shop, where they also intend to be a reference.

Bridging the old and the contemporary, António Sousa Oliveira’s Binding Workshop is one of the few spaces dedicated to this activity that still resists the passage of time.

Óptica do Bolhão was born in 1981, in the heart of downtown Porto, in front of the most emblematic market of the city, the Bolhão Market.
After several years in downtown Porto, it was decided to open a second store, this time in the western part of the city, in Campo Alegre.

For many the oldest goldsmith in the city, what is certain is that the Coutinho Goldsmith was born in 1859, belongs to the same family since 1919, and has stories to tell that no other Porto remember. There were 37 goldsmiths in this area, being inserted in a bourgeois area, and today few remain. Inside we can find gold, silver and filigree, such as Viana’s hearts, cutlery, clocks, among others.
