Humana is a non-profit association that promotes the reuse of used clothing through its second hand fashion stores. Since 1998, he has been working on environmental protection through textile reuse and conducting both development cooperation programs in Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau and local support in Portugal. It seeks to make the most of textile waste by collecting, through a network of containers, textile donations from citizens and preparing them for reuse. The goal is to give clothing a second life and favor the circular economy model. Through reuse, a waste is transformed into a resource.

The concept stems from a desire to create something original and timeless outside the trend circuit. Dressing in a creative way defying the imagination in a too homogeneous world was what stimulated the start of this project in 2006 in Porto, 2010 in Lisbon and 2012 in the Algarve. The collections feature unique and exclusive pieces in Portugal from designers from around the world, from countries as diverse as Japan, Denmark, Turkey or South Korea. Founded in 2009, Riera Alta owes its name to a street in Barcelona where owner Cláudia Andrade took the first steps in handicrafts. Thus, you can expect from this space many activities.
