Café Porta do Olival is the oldest café in Porto city still in operation. It was already in operation in 1853, in the same place where it currently operates: in the middle of the Fernandina Wall, very close to the old port of Olival, one of the most important entrances of the city of Porto in medieval times. According to records, already in 1926 was considered the oldest coffee in Portugal. In addition to the unique opportunity to visit an authentic museum with a unique history and charisma overlooking the Clérigos Tower, Café Porta do Olival is a great place for a coffee break, a fine meal or to starve with a of its economic snacks, such as its bifanas and assorted sandwiches.

With a warm atmosphere and friendly and helpful service, Café Alem D’Ouro is a reference for its homemade sweets. Their francesinha is their most famous product, which is available all year round and not just at Christmas. But there are many other options such as its highly praised scones, orange muffins or cheeses of various flavors (chocolate, mango, passion fruit, almond and coffee). You can also taste the salty ones, such as the patties, the ball or the pastel de Chaves. It’s the perfect place for a meeting point, a snack or a coffee break, accompanied by one of their homemade pastries.

Café Lobito is one of the oldest cafés in this area of Porto, having recently undergone a renovation, giving it a modernisation and sophistication adapted to current times. It maintains the authenticity and genuineness it has always had, which translates into a close and familiar service, as well as the maintenance of the offer, based on traditional Portuguese cuisine. At Café Lobito you can choose any of the meals. For breakfast there are several menus available, from toast to a fruit buffet with granola, accompanied by a “galão” (hot drink from Portugal made of espresso and foamed milk. Similar to caffè latte or café au lait, it consists of about one quarter coffee and three quarters foamed milk. It is served in a tall glass) or fruit juice. For the complete meals the choice is not less diversified, having fish dishes, meat dishes, hamburgers, dogs, not forgetting the Francesinha (a sandwich from the city of Porto, consisting of sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef steak, covered with cheese later melted; it is garnished with a tomato, beer and piri-piri sauce and can be served with French fries as a side dish).
