Humana is a non-profit association that promotes the reuse of used clothing through its second hand fashion stores. Since 1998, he has been working on environmental protection through textile reuse and conducting both development cooperation programs in Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau and local support in Portugal. It seeks to make the most of textile waste by collecting, through a network of containers, textile donations from citizens and preparing them for reuse. The goal is to give clothing a second life and favor the circular economy model. Through reuse, a waste is transformed into a resource.

From necessity the dream was born. In a context of unemployment and a difficult labour market, the owner decided to take a risk in a project of her own and this is how A Lojinha was born, in 2013. It is a textile shop, with three segments: the underwear segment, with pyjamas, bras, underwear, among others; the household linen segment, such as duvets, sheets, towels, just to mention a few; and the baby linen segment, with a wide variety of offers. In addition, it has laundry, dyeing and ironing services, and it is a Payshop and Pagaqui agent. The shop tries to stand out by offering both small hard-to-find items and care and personalised service.

Garbags is an international brand whose mission is to reuse materials in products we use on a daily basis. Containers that could go to waste are reused to build Garbags products. Buying Garbags, according to themselves, is “helping to reduce the amount of waste that is thrown into landfills and to create a more sustainable world.” Inside you can find suitcases, belts, backpacks, cases, notepads, folders for tablets and computers, phone cases, sandals, bags, all made from materials that once were other things, such as juice packs, cereal packages, among others.
