It was classified as a “Public Interest Set”, thanks to its façade designed, in 1932, by the architect Manuel Marques e Amoroso Lopes. It is a work in glass and iron with geometric lines, resulting in a deeply modern and contemporary intervention in a historical building, with an austere and sober character, such as that of the Palácio das Cardosas, which also integrates the Intercontinental Hotel.
