The Barbearia Ópera, formerly Salão Ópera, owes its name to Rossini’s opera “The Barber of Seville”, as a tribute. Founded in 1962, its first employee was António Emílio de Magalhães. Two years later, the initial society was broken up and the property was definitively transferred to the Magalhães family. In 1986, he left the space to his brother and immigrated to France. He then returns and takes over the space again until, in 2010, with 65 years of experience, he passes the art to his son José de Magalhães, who already had ten years of experience and is the current owner of the space. It is a space where we can count on traditional Portuguese barbershop, with both acquired knowledge and experience.

Natural medicine has existed since time immemorial and Kimbanda believes in its therapeutic value for a certain group of pathologies that may affect us. With the growing interest in natural products and substances, Kimbanda has been focusing on this sector. They sell dietary supplements, traditional teas, natural cosmetics, and massage creams and lotions. The preparation of herbal food supplements is carried out in accredited laboratories, confirming their quality, efficacy and safety. Agricultural industries have evolved, which also allows a lesser degree of change in the active constituents of their products.

Barbearia Tinoco is already in the 1930s almanac in its current location, where it is referred to as the property of Manuel Fernandes Tinoco. The decoration of this barber shop is part of the city’s heritage. Noteworthy are the marble washbasins, the floor covered with fan mosaics, the iron chairs and the huge mirrors, in a set with strong Art Deco inspiration. Not to mention the old steam towel warmer, which was then placed on the customers’ faces, as well as the small marble counters in front of each chair that also served to set trays with the snack served from a neighborhood café.
