A loja existe desde 1973, fundada pelo pai do atual proprietário. Como é tradição em muito do comércio construído a partir do esforço de gerações de pais, os filhos acabam por crescer a respirar o negócio e a absorver conhecimento, que os vão tornar especialistas na mesma área. Foi o que aconteceu na Neves & Augusto, Lda. Trata-se de uma loja especializada em ferragens – corrediças, dobradiças, fechos, puxadores, cavilhas, veios, entre outros – ferramentas – martelos, diversas chaves, busca-pólos, rebarbadoras, berbequins, entre outros – e soluções de fixação – buchas, silicones, colas, mástiques, parafusos, molas, cimentos, estuques, ganchos, bornes, entre muitos outros.

Enerdirecta, better known as “The Gas Shop”, opened its doors in April 2007. However, this place has always been known by the people in Porto, since it was the first and last shop open to the public of Gáz Cidla in Portugal (it still keeps the iron carpet of that time). It has all the accessories and components for gas, domestic and industrial, but they have widened their range of products, now having ménage items, small domestic, pots and their accessories and articles for camping, which makes this space a place with soul, history, tradition, but also innovation, trying to meet the needs of all its customers. They are proud of their careful and personalised service.

XL arises from an old desire of its owner, Alexandra S. Monteiro, to build a space that reflects her personality and experiences. The search for new things and new designers was one of her priorities, seeking to find a style that represented something fresh in Porto. There is a concern in bridging the gap between classic and modern, combining Scandinavian style, also characterized by simple and functional lines with old styles, such as the 1950s. XL assumes a taste for simplicity of lines, design and of functionality, closely linked to the sometimes chaotic, modern lifestyle, that makes one look for an uncomplicated, elegant and functional home environment.
