Brigadão was created by three friends out of their love for sweets and their willingness to participate in a project that looked less anxiously at life and emphasized the philosophy of gratitude. Thus, in the form of candy, they seek to spread the joy of gratitude for what they have. “Brigadão” is a word game in which the word “brigadeiro”, the house specialty, and the word “thank you” are mixed. In addition to the handmade brigadeiros of various flavors sold in boxes with positive messages, Brigadão makes other types of cakes and has a catering service. You can eat on site or take home.

If, in the beginning, the Mercadinho do Porto was born from the idea of offering a wide range of regional and national products to those visiting Porto, the context led it to adapt the business and help the community with the delivery of food products. The products that stand out are personalised birthday cakes, both for children and adults, semi-colds, ice creams, miniature sweet and savoury cakes, seasonal cakes such as ‘bolo-rei’ (a festive cake in the shape of a crown, which is part of the Portuguese tradition, and which is typically eaten at Christmas and on the Day of Kings; round in shape, with a large hole in the centre, it is made of a white, fluffy mass mixed with dried grapes, dried fruit and crystallised fruit; its name alludes to the three Wise Men), ‘pão-de-ló’ (similar to sponge cake), ‘pão-de-ló de Ovar’ and conventual sweets. Amigos do Doce is proud of the freshness of its products, with cakes produced every day, and of the love and affection they devote to their confection.
