Founded in 1829 and owned by the same family for 5 generations, Araújo & Sobrinho started its activity as a paper warehouse. It is currently one of the oldest stationery shops in the world and certainly the oldest stationery shop in Porto. Located in the historic center of the city, in a charismatic building where the façade with a unique tiled panel stands out, it has on display a diverse range of museum artifacts, artwork and typography for those who visit. Araújo & Sobrinho is still able to meet all stationery and office needs, both in its historic establishment and just a click away, in its online sales platform.

It opened its doors in 1982, right next to the headquarters where so many demonstrations took place during the PREC, by the hand of libertarian members of the editorial cooperative A Centelha, also functioning as a support to the distribution of this historic and resistant publisher from Coimbra, established after the academic crisis of 69, by the hands of Professor Sobral Martins. The Livraria Utopia intends to resist in these times, enemies of the book. It sells new and used books, from publishers such as Livraria Letra Livre, & etc, Maldoror, VS. Vasco Santos, Fenda, Averno, Alambique, Saguão, Língua Morta.
