There is a connection between Portugal and Thailand: for over 500 years the Portuguese established contact with the Thai and introduced elements of the local cuisine. In the Thailander restaurant there is now the opposite direction, the offer of authentic Thai cuisine in downtown Porto. The menu is based on the offer of typical Thai dishes, from Pad Thai, a dish of rice noodles sautéed in egg and a traditional sauce, spring rolls, strong flavoured soups, such as Tom Yum, a rich shrimp broth with citrus flavours from kaffir lime and lemon grass, with a spicy touch, or Tom Kha, a coconut broth with mushrooms, galangal and the aromas of coriander and lemon grass, to typical curry dishes, among others.

Open since April 2016, the Restaurant Sonetos offers a space where you can enjoy the best flavours of the national gastronomy, with tasty delicacies or, as they say, “authentic poems for the palate”. With a simple but very pleasant decoration, where the comfort and well-being of the customer are a constant concern, you can enjoy the pleasures of traditional cuisine, such as veal chop, codfish, Portuguese stew or ‘Tripas à Moda do Porto’ (a traditional dish from Porto, made with various types of meat, tripe, sausages and white beans, served with rice), without missing the indispensable Francesinhas (a sandwich from the city of Porto, consisting of sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef steak, covered with cheese later melted; it is garnished with a tomato, beer and piri-piri sauce and can be served with French fries as a side dish), ex-libris of the city. We highlight the “Francesinha” in puff pastry, a variation of the traditional Francesinha, an original recipe of the house, which attracts many of its customers.

Located in downtown Porto, the fame of the Venham Mais 5 beef sandwiches has spread rapidly throughout the city. With a short menu, the most intense bet is on the quality of the products used in the confection of their dishes. The centre of attention is placed on the beef sandwich, served in bread, with sirloin and melted cheese – you can also order a version with Serra cheese. Almost at the same level of fame are their desserts, especially the chocolate cake, a delight that blends the lightness of a merengue chocolate sigh with chocolate mousse. The portions are generous and often shared by the table, since the very philosophy of the house invites the sharing of stories, conviviality and, there you have it, food.
