Moreda Café Restaurante

Moreda owes its name to Manuel Francisco Moreda, a former councilor of the Oporto Chamber and member of the Porto Trade Association, who in 1860 opened a fig brandy distillery, which later evolved into the wider trade of wines and white drinks. Moreda has a huge variety of snacks made from shard cake such as nail and garlic shard cake. Noteworthy is the francesinha in Caco cake, a mix between the most typical Porto snack with one of the delights of Madeira. It offers economical lunchtime menus with meat and fish options including soup, bread, dessert and coffee. It is still a great place for group dinners.

This distinction is a guarantee of quality and proof that the pizzas served at Muti meet the exacting requirements of the art of making Neapolitan pizzas. This art, considered an UNESCO Intangible World Heritage Site, entails, for example, a long period of fermentation of the pasta at room temperature. Muti means dumb in Italian, nicknamed by its owner, the experienced Neapolitan pizza maker Vicenzo Marino, who spoke little about children.

Inaugurated in 1948 by the Ramos Family. Mr. Artur Ramos has transmitted over the years his knowledge in the making of the famous Tripas (guts). It has already been awarded in the contest “Hoje há Tripas”. The restaurant reopened in 2014 with a renewed image and under new management. It offers experiences of typical Porto flavors, as well as explores Italian cuisine from pasta and risottos. You can also appreciate the most renowned artists in the space, such as exterior “graffiti” of illustrious figures of history (Marques da Silva, Almeida Garrett, D. Pedro IV, Infante D.
