Founded by friends Carlos Torres and Albano Morais, Pim Pão Pum has a funny name that stays in the ear, which refers to a childlike and nostalgic imagination that we all identify with, and also to its main product: bread. In addition to a wide variety of bread and cakes, Pim Pão Pum is particularly sought after for its delicious Berliners (Portuguese Bolas de Berlim), considered by many customers to be the best in Porto. With a great location, Tropical offers a wide range of typical Portuguese dishes, both meat and fish. For example, “bacalhau à Braga” (codfish), Tropical typical steak and a variety of grilled meat and fish.
At lunchtime there are several options of daily dishes at low prices, with meat and fish alternatives. In addition to the Portuguese cuisine, Tropical offers a very complete snack bar service, highlighting the classic Francesinha or the much praised Francesinha in puff pastry. Manteigaria is a custard tart factory with a public service desk. It has two stores in the city of Porto, located in the Clérigos and in the Bolhão area.
Inside it is possible for the customer to observe the whole process of making cream puffs, completely handmade: from the preparation of the dough to the addition of the cream, and, of course, the moment when the cakes are baked. Cream Puffs can be enjoyed inside the store or taken outside. Manteigaria also has the particularity of announcing in the street, through a bell, the exit of a new batch of tartlets ready to be tasted.
