PAAZ is a synonym of Paulo Azevedo, an architect graduated from FAUP (Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto), who has collaborated in different architectural offices and participated in several projects of single-family houses, restoration, interior development, among others, being present from the conception to the monitoring of the work. He has lived in Rome and Vienna, where the “philosophy of space” is very present. He returned to Porto, where he opened PAAZ, to put his stamp on architectural and design projects. It all started in 1968, when Pedro Guimarães accepted Joaquim Mitnitsky’s invitation to work in decoration at his studio, after he graduated in painting in Lisbon. He worked in his atelier for four years and decided to venture out on his own, opening the first shop in Bairro Alto, the Obelisco.
