Founded in 1972, the Esquina Livraria e Papelaria was initially, and with the dimension of neighborhood bookstore, linked to the new book. Over time, the rare, curious and valuable old book has naturally been imposed and is today the main care and interest of this house. As a bookstore they have, as a specialty, books of Art, Genealogy, Regionalism and, most particularly, the old book, that is, the 16th century, 17th century book. They have the privilege of having already passed through their bookshelves the best and rarest books of classic Portuguese literature. They sell but also buy, interested in buying libraries at home or abroad, as well as isolated books of value.

The Livraria Utopia was born at a time when alternative bookstores established after 25 April 1974 had already closed. It opened its doors in 1982, right next to the headquarters where so many demonstrations took place during the PREC, by the hand of libertarian members of the editorial cooperative A Centelha, also functioning as a support to the distribution of this historic and resistant publisher from Coimbra, established after the academic crisis of 69, by the hands of Professor Sobral Martins. The Livraria Utopia intends to resist in these times, enemies of the book. It sells new and used books, from publishers such as Livraria Letra Livre, & etc, Maldoror, VS. Vasco Santos, Fenda, Averno, Alambique, Saguão, Língua Morta.
The owner of these spaces has been dedicated to this sector since he was 19 years old, having inaugurated the first Kioske brand establishment in the Bolhão area.
The business has been growing and expanding, counting nowadays with three spaces distributed by the city of Porto.
At Kioske establishments, guests will find a selection of newspapers, magazines and books, as well as various tobacco brands and tobacco-related accessories.
