Kuri Kuri opened its doors at the end of November 2009 at Rua do Rosário, having been the first store in Porto exclusively dedicated to selling Japanese items. After a month's stay in Japan in 2005, Ana Cancela wanted to open a store with focus on a single culture and Japan appeared to be the most desirable to explore for this marketing licensee. Kuri Kuri (meaning “how loving” in Japanese) sells everything from plaited rice straw sandals to Maneki Neko, the prosperity cats, to objects such as origami costume jewelry from Portuguese artisans who cross ancient art. Accompanied by the modern design.
